A Giving Initiative of His Lightkeepers

Some of the most meaningful gifts we receive in life come from people we may never meet.

As a young girl growing up in Guatemala, I remember receiving a simple Christmas gift from someone I didn't know—a piece of fabric for my school uniform, two apples, and a small bunch of grapes. It wasn't extravagant, but to me it was unforgettable.

More than the gift itself, it was the realization that somewhere, someone cared enough to help a child they had never met.

Someone I would never meet, but who forever became part of my story.

I believe there's power in the gift of a stranger.
I believe God works through the kindness of strangers.

That simple act of kindness strengthened my faith in God, increased my hope in humanity, and has stayed with me ever since.

Today, it inspires everything we do through His Lightkeepers.

A Meal, A Friend, and A Book was created to give children around the world that same feeling of hope that someone sees them, values them, and believes they matter.

Every Giving Event helps provide:

* One meal

* One faith-filled children's book

* One moment of human connection

Through trusted local partners already serving their communities, we gather children to share meals, stories, laughter, and encouragement.

Our desire is not simply to meet a physical need.

It is to remind every child that they are loved by their communities, by people across the world, and by God.

Because sometimes a simple act of kindness can become a memory that lasts a lifetime.

How It Works

Giving Events

Throughout the year, individuals, families, churches, schools, businesses, and community groups host Giving Events.

During these events, books are purchased through His Lightkeepers. Each participant receives a book to take home, and every book purchased helps provide one meal and one faith-filled children's book for a child at an upcoming Receiving Event.

Participants are also invited, if they wish, to write a message of hope and encouragement inside one of the books that will be donated.

Online orders placed during the Giving Event also qualify.

Receiving Events

Receiving Events are held in partnership with trusted local organizations already serving children and families in their communities.

Together, we gather children in a safe and welcoming place where they receive:

  A nutritious meal

  A faith-filled children's book
  
• 
  A meaningful moment through stories, reading, coloring, and friendship
  

Books are provided in the language of each community whenever possible.

How You Can Help

There are two simple ways to be part of this mission.

Host or Participate in a Giving Event

Gather your family, church, school, business, or community for a Giving Event.

Every book purchased during the event helps provide a meal and a children's book for a child at an upcoming Receiving Event.

Whether you host an event or simply participate in one, your kindness becomes part of a child's story.

Bring a Receiving Event to Your Community
